The government was trying to unfairly take Moari land

It was a peaceful place for Moari to settle and harvest

5th of November 1881

• How do you think the people of Parihaka were feeling when the troops entered their village?

I think they were unexpected betrayed and sad

• Do you think stories about the events of 5th November 1881 were were reported on by the media at the time?

No Because the government was doing a bad thing and didn't wanted to put it in a document

• How long were Te Whiti and Tohu imprisoned? Where? What did they intend to do when they returned to Parihaka?

New plymoth and for 6 months. when released they will be a famous chief at Parihaka
