last Friday we watched the aoteora history show about the treaty of Waitangi.

1. in 1830 the Maori population had dropped form 100,000 to 70,000-80,000.
2. the reason for this was because war and a virus
3. the name of the main town in NZ at this time was Russell
4. the rangatira and missionrys weren't happy with the drinking alcohol and party in the town
5. the treaty was damaged when it was left under a building with water and rats
